SilverBacks Hire New Director, Game Night Operations

Press Release

The Salmon Arm SilverBacks are pleased to announce the hiring of Scott Campbell as the team’s new Director of Game Night Operations.

Campbell, a local media personality, will be responsible for the execution of all game-night operations at the Shaw Centre including on-ice promotions, customer care and the hiring of game-night staff. He served as the team’s play-by-play announcer for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons.

“We’re very excited as an organization to welcome “Soupy” back as Director of Game Night Operations this coming season,” said SilverBacks head coach/general manager Troy Mick. “Scott is an outstanding person and his charismatic personality will be a welcome addition to our game nights.”

“We really want to make our game nights an experience to remember and we believe we have the right guy to lead us in this area. We want our fans jumping out of their seats, making noise and having a great time at SilverBacks home games this year,” Mick added.

“I’m happy to be back with the SilverBacks,” Campbell said. “It’s been an absolute honour to work within the hockey community of Salmon Arm for the past two years and I look forward to helping create a more intimate and joyous experience for SilverBacks fans at the Shaw Centre.”

“Last season, Troy Mick kick-started something special in that building, and now it’s up to us as a community, and as hockey fans to continue to strive to make this the next pinnacle of Junior “A” Hockey in Canada. I’d also like to welcome Chris Wahl, Kevin Kraus and Eric Godard to the SilverBacks family, even now, it’s clear that this will be a season to remember,” Campbell added.
