The Michigan Warriors have announced that defenseman Michael Szuma has committed to the University of Michigan (CCHA) for the 2011-12 season.
Szuma, a 19-year-old from Novi, Mich., has a goal and two assists through 12 games this season.
"I'm very excited for Mike that he's been given such a great opportunity to attend the University of Michigan," said Warriors head coach Moe Mantha. "To live a dream of playing hockey and, at the same time, get a great education is great for him and his family."
Szuma is the first player in Warriors history to commit to a Division I school.
