Smutek secures a Scholarship to University of Connecticut

Press Release

The Quesnel Millionaires are pleased to announce that 20 year old Captain Skyler Smutek has secured a Scholarship to the University of Connecticut. Smutek is obviously very excited with the events during this last week and also a big relief, knowing the next four years, where he'll be playing. Smutek says, he's very thankful knowing so early in the season, and now can concentrate on leading the Quesnel Millionaires Hockey Club on the ice. Smutek will also join his best friend on the team next year, as well as a former opponent from the BCHL last year.

Coach Doug Hedley, says, Smutek is fully deserving of this Scholarship as he competes both in game situations and practice. His leadership qualities are outstanding. U-Conn is getting a quality player as well as a quality person.

The entire Quesnel Millionaires would like to congratulate Skyler Smutek on receiving his scholarship and look forward to watching him the rest of the season.
