Two Saints Commit to University

The Spruce Grove Saints are pleased to announce that Brett Switzer has committed to attend Bentley University, beginning in the 2011-2012 season. Switzer, a native of Calgary, has had a very impressive career with the Saints, compiling 70 goals and 70 assists for 140 points in 147 regular season games. The 20-year old, centre has spent the past three seasons with the Saints capturing the Enerflex Cup last season.

"Brett is a tremendous individual who is very dedicated to improving on a daily basis. The Bentley Falcons will be adding a player that will impact their program in a variety of ways," stated Saints Head Coach and General Manager Jason McKee

The Spruce Grove Saints would like to congratulate Brett and his family on this tremendous opportunity. The Saints look forward to Brett's continued contributions through the 2010-2011 playoffs.

The Spruce Grove Saints are proud to announce that 20 year old forward Josh Koper has committed to the University of Alberta for the 2011/2012 season. Josh will Join the Golden Bears after a successful junior hockey career. In 157 games played with the Saints over the past 4 seasons Koper has scored 67 goals and has 44 assists, he also captured an Enerflex Cup Championship last season. Josh also had stints with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League as well as the Edmonton Oil Kings last season.

"I am very excited for the opportunity," exclaims Koper, "I would like to thank my team and the Saints organization for giving me the chance to continue my hockey career while attaining a post secondary education."

"Josh worked extremely hard on and off the ice," Saints Head Coach Jason McKee acknowledges, "he put in the time and work necessary to be rewarded with this excellent opportunity. We are pleased that Josh will be continuing his playing career while attending an educational institute as highly regarded as the University of Alberta."
