LANCERS ACQUIRE F TANNER LANE FROM FARGO

Press Release

OMAHA, NE – The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce they have acquired second-year veteran forward Tanner Lane today in a trade with the Fargo Force. In exchange, Fargo receives second-year Lancers defenseman Dominic Racobaldo along with a player to be named later. In addition to Lane, Omaha also receives a conditional draft pick in the 2012 USHL Entry Draft.

A native of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Lane has tallied 22 points (five goals, 17 assists) in 69 career games with the Force. At the time of the trade, Lane was Fargo’s second leading scorer this season having notched nine points (one goal, eight assists) through the team’s first 12 games. Six of Lane’s nine points this year have come on the power play as the 6’2”, 185 pound forward has registered one power play goal to go along with five man-advantage assists this year. Lane is already committed to the University of Nebraska-Omaha and was selected 160th overall (Round 6) by the Atlanta Thrashers (now Winnipeg Jets) in the 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Lane was originally selected 44th overall (Round 3) by Fargo in the 2010 USHL Entry Draft. Lane will wear jersey #17 for the Lancers and is expected to be in the lineup when Omaha returns to action this Friday at the Omaha Civic Auditorium against the Des Moines Buccaneers.
