CLIFTON BROTHERS COMMIT TO QUINNIPIAC

Press Release

Wayne, NJ- The Jersey Hitmen are proud to announce that brothers Tim and Connor Clifton have committed to Quinnipiac University for the fall of 2013.

Tim, a 1992-born forward and Hitmen Empire League graduate, scored 25 goals and 49 points for the EJHL Southern Division champions. Connor, a 1995-born defenseman (currently on loan to the US National Team) and Empire League graduate, is in his first year with the EJHL team. Connor, a hard hitting, strong skating defenseman, is being highly touted for the 2013 NHL draft.

The Matawan, NJ, natives made their final decision on Quinnipiac after vetting out the college process.

"This is a great day for the Hitmen and Quinnipiac alike," commented coach Harris. "Tim was a warrior for us last year, he played in nearly every situation. Point on the power play, center, wing, he killed penalties, he did everything except suit up in net. He is a quality kid and excellent player.

Harris went on to say, "Connor is an animal, and I say that in the most endearing way. For a 95 birth, he is a punishing physical presence even at the Junior A level. He has a ton of upside, and has a very good chance of growing into an NHL draft pick over the next two seasons. Both boys work hard off the ice, understand the game, and come from a great hockey family. Coach Pecknold, Riga and Cashman are getting two tremendous players in the Cliftons."

Tim and Connor now become the 11th and 12th Hitmen to commit to play NCAA Division One hockey within the next two seasons 2012-2013.
