RANGERS' FRIEDMANN HEADING TO BGSU

Press Release

North York Rangers defenceman Mark Friedman (photo credit - Izak Westgate/HHOF) will join the Bowling Green State University Falcons beginning with the 2012-13 CCHA season.

Friedman made his commitment to Bowling Green this past summer following the 2010-11 season in which he was a member of the Don Mills Flyers minor midget squad in the GTHL. The club's successful run, ending as runner-up in the prestigious OHL Cup tournament, saw numerous Flyers get drafted by OHL clubs, including Friedman in the 13th round, 255th overall by the Windsor Spitfires.

The 5'10", 175 lbs. rearguard who was born on Christmas Day, 1995, played two games for the Rangers last season as an AP before joining the club full-time this year. The rookie currently has six points and recently scored his first junior goal versus the Mississauga Chargers.

Congratulations Mark and best of luck the rest of the way!
