Dallas Hand to Leave Oilers

Press Release

It is with deep regret that the Okotoks Oilers announce that Dallas Hand, our Marketing and Business Manager, has accepted a new marketing position with the Bower Mall, in Red Deer, Alberta, effective July 8, 2013.

Dallas who is from Spruceview, Alberta, was a walk-on competitor at the Okotoks Oilers inaugural main camp in August 2005, and made the final roster through dedicated hard work. His devoted work ethic throughout the 2005/06 season, earned him the prestigious Oilers Award, an award presented to the player exhibiting outstanding team and community leadership. At the conclusion of the 2005/06 season, Dallas received a hockey scholarship to the New England College Pilgrims, of the ECAC East, in Henniker, New Hampshire, and for the next two years played for the Pilgrims and studied Sports and Recreation Management. In the spring of the 2007/08, Dallas graduated with his degree in Sports and Recreation Management: Athletic Administration, and was named to the ECAC 2007/08 All Academic Team. In the fall of 2008 Dallas returned to New England College  to continue his studies and graduated in June 2009 with his Masters Degree in Management and Marketing. Shortly thereafter he joined the Oilers staff as our Marketing and Business Manager.

Dallas has been innovative and instrumental in creating the Oilers marketing program over the past few years. He was known and well respected throughout the community. We will all miss him dearly.

The Okotoks Oilers wish Dallas, his wife Sarah and son Hudson, every success for the future.
