Trappers sign 5 local players

Press Release

NORTH BAY -- The North Bay Jr. Trappers held a press conference Friday morning to announce the signing of five North Bay area players for the upcoming 2013-14 season.

In their home at West Ferris arena, new head coach and assistant general manager Zane Neily, along with GM Chris Dawson announced the club has committed to returning goaltender Dustin Hummel while also inking newcomer forwards Tyler Kennedy, Kyle Baril, and Andrew DeMarco along with defenceman Thomas Hamilton.

Hummel put up impressive numbers behind the NOJHL’s best netminder Greg Dodds last season with the NOJHL defending champions.

He played in 13 games last season sporting a 6-4 record along with a pair of shutouts and a goals-against average of 2.81.

Kennedy and Baril are graduates of the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers program, while Hamiton and DeMarco skated for the Mattawa Voyageurs of the Greater Metro Junior ‘A’ Hockey League.

The Trappers will look to announce more signings prior to their main camp, which runs July 5-7 at Pete Palangio Arena in North Bay.
