Prince George Spruce Kings defenceman Trevor Esau and West Kelowna Warriors forward Max French have been named the first-ever recipients of the FortisBC Energy Player of the Year honour.
Esau, the Spruce Kings captain and veteran of 159 BCHL games with the Spruce Kings, earned 11 FortisBC Energy Player of the game nods through 51 games played in the regular season to take the crown for that portion of the schedule.
French, the Warriors captain and veteran of 193 BCHL games with the Warriors, earned four FortisBC Energy Player of the Game nods in 10 playoff games as his team advanced to the Interior Conference finals.
The BCHL and FortisBC salute these players for their efforts on the ice this season and congratulate them on their respective honours.
