June 18, 2013 - The Melfort Mustangs are proud to announce they have hired Branden Crowe as the club’s new full time Marketing and Administrative Officer.
Crowe has spent the last two years as the Sports Director at CK750 and CJVR Radio in Melfort providing play by play for the U of S Huskies Football Club, Nipawin Hawks, Humboldt Broncos and the Mustangs.
The Manitoba product has called over 250 SJHL games in his career and was part of the Humboldt Broncos Anavet Cup Championship in 2011 along with being the Hockey Canada voice for the 2011 Royal Bank Cup.
“The Melfort Mustangs organization has embraced me as one of their own” said Crowe.
“I am so excited to be able to help this program grow and develop into one of the top markets in junior hockey.”
Over the last season, the SJHL has seen a massive increase in the emphasis on marketing and promotion. Of the 12 member clubs, 8 have created and filled full time marketing positions.
This effort has not gone un-noticed as the SJHL has increased their annual revenue on a continuous basis since 2010.
The 12-13 SJHL season had an increase of 4% of fans during the regular season and during the 12-13 playoffs the attendance across the league showed a huge increase of 44%.
Along with his responsibilities at the radio station, Crowe has been a vital member of the SJHL’s communications staff since 2012 and has helped make the SJHL.ca one of the most visited websites in the CJHL.
“The Melfort Mustangs organization is very pleased to announce the hiring of Branden Crowe as our marketing and office executive” said Team President Sean Isberg.
“Branden has certainly been no stranger to the organization over the past two seasons as he has been volunteering his time as a trainer for the club as well as pa announcing at our home games. We look forward to Branden bringing his enthusiasm and experience to the marketing role of the Melfort Mustangs.”
As part of his duties, Crowe will manage the marketing and corporate sales for the hockey club, along with the clubs finances, game day operations and the creation and development a positive relationship within the community.
Along with his responsibilities with the Mustangs, Crowe will remain the Voice of the Mustangs on CK750 and 105 CJVR for the upcoming season.
“To be able to take on this role with the hockey club yet remain in the press box doing what I love on the radio is an absolute blessing” said Crowe.
“I owe a lot to the Mustangs and Fabmar Communications for supporting me and allowing this to happen.”
Crowe will take over the position with the club immediately.
