Press Release

Owatonna Express goaltender Fredrik Bergman has committed to play for the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's (CCHA) University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks for the 2009-10 season.

The 6-foot-3, 170-pound Bergman appeared in 17 games with the Express last season, and posted a 9-6-2-1 record with a team-leading 2.56 goals against average, and a .916 save percentage. The Vienna, Virginia native also played in all nine Express playoff games, posting a 5-4 record with a 2.51 goals against average.

"Anytime one of our players has an opportunity to play at the Division I level, we couldn't be happier," said Express Head Coach Pat Cullen. "It will be a wonderful chance for Freddy to play under a great coaching staff, with Dean Blais and Mike Hastings."
