Guelph acquires Sisca

The Guelph Storm announced that they have acquired forward Mathew Sisca from the Niagara IceDogs in exchange for Dylan Wood and a 2nd round pick in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection.

Sisca was drafted by the then Mississauga IceDogs in the 8th round, 143rd overall, in 2006.He recorded 11 points as a rookie in 2007-08. The Woodbridge native had a breakout year last year recording 54 points, 21 goals and 33 assists in 66 games. Only 5 players that recorded points in 2007-08 had greater point increases in 2008-09 than Sisca's 43 point improvement including the Storm's Matt Kennedy (52 pt increase) and Peter Holland (44 pt increase). Last post season, Sisca led Niagara with 7 goals in 12 playoff games.

The 18 year old will join the rest of the Storm at the Sleeman Centre for training camp beginning August 26th.
