Majors open camp on August 27th

Mississauga ON – The 2009-10 season is fast approaching and the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors are set once again for the annual training camp at the Hershey Centre. The camp will take place from Thursday, August 27 to Sunday, August 30, with fitness testing and physicals being held on the first day.

Scrimmages and dry land training sessions begin on Friday (August 28) and will continue until the camp wraps up on Sunday (August 30). Please note that only scrimmages are open to public and media, and they will be held at the Hershey Centre’s Community Rink #2 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Times are subject to last-minute change so visit the Majors website at www.stmichaelsmajors.com for updates.

In total, 46 players were invited to participate in camp this year, which include returning and drafted players.

Majors host exhibition games on Thursday, September 3 vs. Owen Sound Attack at 7 p.m. at the Milton Sports Centre (605 Santa Maria Blvd., Milton) on Rink B, and on Sunday, September 6 vs. Peterborough Petes at 2 p.m. at Joshua Creek Arena (1663 North Service Road East, Oakville), Blue Rink. The 2009-10 regular season kicks off when Mississauga visits the Brampton Battalion on Friday, September 18 at 7:30 p.m. Mark your calendars for the Majors home opener which takes place on Friday, October 2 versus the Battalion at 7:30 p.m.
