Adam and Brodeur win TELUS Player of the Week Awards

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, February 22, 2010 – Cape Breton Screamings Eagles forward Luke Adam and teammate Mathieu Brodeur today were named the TELUS offensive and defensive players of the week for the period extending from February 15 to 21.

Adam recorded three goals and four assists in the Screaming Eagles' three wins. Furthermore, he scored a game-winner and posted a +6 rating. Finally, he was named the first star of his team's 4-1 victory over the Mooseheads on Sunday.

Ted Stephens (Wildcats), Chris DiDomenico (Voltigeurs) and Michaël Bournival (Cataractes) were also considered.

As for Brodeur, he was dominant on Cape Breton's blue-line, registering four points in three games. Moreover, he posted an impressive +/- rating at +9. Finally, he punished opponents, recording six thunderous bodychecks.

Nicola Riopel (Wildcats), Robin Gusse (Saguenéens) and Marc-Antoine Desnoyers (Voltigeurs) were also in the running.
