Kesti Commits to Northern Michigan

Sioux City Musketeers defenseman Ryan Kesti has committed to play collegiate hockey at Northern Michigan University and will enroll at the school this fall.

Kesti has collected three points (1g, 2a) in 43 games for the Musketeers. His lone goal of the season was the overtime winner in the 4-3 victory over Team USA on October 23rd. It is the second USHL season for the 20-year-old native of Red Wing, Minnesota. He scored five points (1g, 4a) in 44 games while playing forward with the Sioux Falls Stampede in 2008-09.

Kesti will be joined at Northern Michigan by current teammate Stephan Vigier. Five other USHL players have committed to play hockey for the Northern Michigan University Wildcats; Reed Seckel (Green Bay Gamblers), Jared Coreau (Lincoln Stars), Ryan Daugherty (Omaha Lancers), C.J. Ludwig (Omaha Lancers), and Blake Pietila (Team USA).

The Northern Michigan University Wildcats are members of the CCHA and have nine former USHL players on their roster this season; Jared Brown (Lincoln Stars), Alan Dorich (Des Moines Buccaneers), Reid Ellingson (Green Bay Gamblers), Kyle Follmer (Lincoln Stars), Phil Fox (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), Kory Kaunisto (Lincoln Stars), Ray Kaunisto (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), Mark Olver (Omaha Lancers), and Bill Smith (Green Bay Gamblers).
