Langley's Thompson commits to RIT for 2011/12

Press Release

The Langley Chiefs Junior A Hockey Club is pleased to announce that forward Brandon Thompson has become the eighth current Chiefs player to commit to attend an NCAA Division I program.

Thompson currently sits second among Chiefs players with 57 points and is enjoying his best statistical season out of his three years playing in Langley. His 16 goals and 41 assists are both career highs, and he has now scored 91 points in 159 career BCHL games.

“RIT is a great hockey program and we are very happy that Thommy was able to wrap up his scholarship for the 2011 season,” says Chiefs head coach and general manager Harvey Smyl.

Thompson heads to a program at RIT that is littered with top flight former BCHL players and will join a strong Tigers squad led by head coach Wayne Wilson. He will head south for the 2011/12 campaign, meaning that he will play one more season in the BCHL.

On behalf of the entire Langley Chiefs organization, we would like to congratulate Brandon on his accomplishments.
