Salmon Arm's Noyes commits to RIT

Press Release

The Salmon Arm SilverBacks are pleased to announce that defenceman Greg Noyes has committed to attend the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) for the 2010/11 hockey season.

A native of Lucan, Ontario, Noyes is in his second season with the 'Backs. The 19-year old has had a banner year, breaking the record for goals scored by a defenseman in a single season. The record of 14 has been held by Craig Switzer since the 2003/04 season. Noyes currently has 20 goals and 28 assists for 48 points.

"Greg has evolved into one of the league’s top offensive defenseman," comments SilverBacks general manager Rylan Ferster. "He sees the ice so well and he's able to make plays and score goals at times that only top end players do."

At RIT, Noyes will join a number of recent BCHL graduates, including Adam Hartley, Scott Knowles and Al Mazur. The Tigers compete in the Atlantic Hockey conference in NCAA Division I.

"I would like to wish Greg all the best with his scholarship and would like to thank him for his contribution to the team over the past two year" says team owner Randy Williams.

The entire SilverBacks organization would like to congratulate Greg and his family on this great accomplishment.
