Williams Lake's Ryan Stanimir named BCHL Player of the Week

Williams Lake Timberwolves forward Ryan Stanimir has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending February 21st, the league announced Monday.

Stanimir scored in all four of his team's games during the final week of the regular season. He opened his account by scoring all three of his team's goals in a 6-3 defeat to Prince George, and contributed a goal and an assist in a win over the Spruce Kings two nights later. On Saturday, Stanimir added two more points in a narrow loss to Quesnel, and he closed out the season with a goal against the Burnaby Express.

The 19-year old totalled six goals and two assists for the week, capping a season in which he scored 27 times and finished with 54 points to lead the Timberwolves.

Honourable mentions for this week's award included Penticton's Beau Bennett, Salmon Arm's Mark Zengerle, Powell River's Mat Bodie and Williams Lake's Justin Bardarson.
