Congratulations to forward Jeff Costello of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, named Reebok Offensive Player of the Week; defenseman Tyler Amburgey of the Tri-City Storm, selected as CCM Defensive Player of the Week; and Cab Morris of the Indiana Ice who earned honors as the USHL Goaltender of the Week.

Costello scored six points (3g, 3a) and registered a plus-four rating as the RoughRiders gained two road victories over Fargo. He notched his first USHL hat trick in Friday’s 9-6 victory while also dishing out two assists for a career best five-point game. The 19-year-old native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin then assisted on the game-winning goal in Saturday’s 6-3 victory. He leads the RoughRiders with 24 goals this season through 39 games which equals his total in 54 games during his first USHL season in 2008-09. Costello leads the team with a plus-22 rating and is currently on a five-game point streak (4g, 5a).

Amburgey recorded three goals to help the Storm earn a pair of weekend victories and push their winning streak to four games. The 6-2, 215-pound blueliner tallied his second goal of the season in Friday’s 5-2 win over Lincoln. He then netted the first goal of the game for Tri-City before scoring the overtime winner in Saturday’s 3-2 victory vs. Sioux City. It is the first USHL season for the 18-year-old native of Rowlett, Texas. He has collected seven points (4g, 3a) in 29 games for the Storm.

Morris was in net for all three victories by the Ice during the week posting a 2.00 goals-against-average and a .930 save percentage. Last Monday, he made a season high 44 saves in the 4-2 win over Waterloo. The Wilmette, Illinois native earned his 15th victory of the season on Friday when he stopped 17 shots in the 5-1 win vs. Des Moines. The following evening, he turned away 19 shots as the Ice completed the two-game sweep of Des Moines with a 4-3 victory. Morris, 18, has won his last four starts and currently leads all USHL goaltenders with a .923 SV% and ranks second with a 2.20 GAA.
