Carl-Antoine Delisle suspended for 3 games

Press Release

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Disciplinary Prefect today suspended Victoriaville Tigres’ centre Carl-Antoine Delisle for 3 games following an incident which occurred during October 21st game versus the Shawinigan Cataractes.

Here is the rationale which led to this decision:
  • There was a race for the puck which was going towards the boards at the face off circle. The player left from the front of the net and took eight strides.
  • As his opponent preceded him, the player turned slightly to the right and hit his opponent, directly on his back—without slowing down—and threw him into the board.
  • Even though his opponent turned at the last moment and made himself vulnerable, the player never slowed down nor tried to partially avoid contact.
  • The speed of the player, the force of impact and the opponent’s gesture were considered in this decision.
  • No injury was sustained following this gesture.
The decision was rendered after reviewing the video of the incident, gathering the testimonies from the players and the organizations involved, reading the officials’ report and consulting the independent committee in the matter of disciplinary sanctions.
