Festarini traded to Niagara

Press Release

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League have announced that goaltender Chris Festarini has been traded to the Niagara IceDogs in exchange for a sixth round pick in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection and a conditional sixth round pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.

Festarini was originally drafted by the Otters in the fifth round of the 2009 OHL Priority Selection. He appeared in 27 games for the Otters, including two postseason contests, from 2009 to 2011.

The trade officially cements the return of fan favorite Ramis Sadikov, who is scheduled to make his first start of the season this weekend. The Otters are scheduled to play at home Friday night against the Plymouth Whalers and Saturday night against the Ottawa 67’s. Both games start at 7:00 p.m.

Sadikov, who participated at Detroit Red Wings training camp before returning to practice with the Otters, had a team-record 36 wins during the 2010-11 season. He was selected as the team's Player of the Year the at 2011 Erie Otters Summer Awards Banquet.
