Five-point showing paves way for Krause's first POW award

Westside Warriors forward Tyler Krause has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 23 the league announced Monday.

The Warriors forward erupted for a big five-point night in a home win over the Prince George Spruce Kings that saw him score twice including the game-winner and take 1st Star. Krause had a goal and a 2nd Star showing earlier in the week in another Warriors win and now sits second in team scoring with nine goals and nine assists.

Honourable mentions this week go to Penticton Vees defenceman Mike Reilly (four games, five goals, two assists, 1st Star, 2nd Star), Trail Smoke Eaters forward Adam Boytinck (two games, two goals, three assists, 2nd Star, 3rd Star), Westside Warriors defenceman Michael King (two games, two goals, two assists), Victoria Grizzlies forward Wade Murphy (two games, one goal, six assists, 2nd Star) and Langley Rivermen forward Scott Moyer (two games, three goals, two GWG, 2nd Star)
