Huberdeau, Pageau and Critchlow named TELUS three stars of the week

Jonathan Huberdeau, Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Cameron Critchlow were named today the TELUS three stars of the week for the period spanning October 24th to 30th, 2011.

Saint John Sea Dogs left-winger Jonathan Huberdeau is the first star after having collected 6 points in two games. During the game against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles last Friday, Huberdeau gave a 2-0 lead to his team by scoring his 5th and 6th goals of the season in a 6-3 win. He was named the second star of the game. The following day against the Chicoutimi Saguenéens he collected 4 points on top of a +5 rating. He finished the week with 3 goals, 3 assists and a +6 rating.

Gatineau Olympiques’ right-winger Jean-Gabriel Pageau is the second star. Friday, in a 3-0 win against the Drummondville Voltigeurs, he was named the first star of the game after having scored 2 goals, including one during a penalty shot which turned out to be the winning goal. The next day, his team celebrated a 6-1 victory versus the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. During the game, he scored two goals and collected an assist and was named the second star of the game. It’s worth noting that Pageau scored at least one goal in the past 4 games. He finished the week with 5 points and a +4 rating.

The third star is awarded to Cameron Critchlow, the Halifax Mooseheads captain, who has registered 15 points in 17 games this season. The Mooseheads played 3 games on the road this week and won all three. Wednesday, against the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, Critchlow was named the first star of the game after scoring a goal and adding 3 helpers in a 7-5 win. Friday and Saturday, the team played against the Val-d’Or Foreurs. They won both games 3-2 and 5-2 respectively. During these two matchups, Critchlow totalled two points. He finished the week with 2 goals and 4 assists for a total of 6 points and a +1 rating.
