Ice vets double up on college commitments

Press Release

INDIANAPOLIS—The Indiana Ice announced today that forward Tyler Pham and defenseman Vince Pedrie have committed to playing college hockey at Army and Quinnipiac University respectively. The Army Black Knights compete in the NCAA Division I Atlantic Hockey Association and the Quinnipiac University Bobcats participate in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

In his third year with the Ice, Pham has been a stable presence on the roster with 42 points (14G, 28A) in 128 games. The Fort Collins, CO native has logged six points (2G, 4A) through 14 games this season and is currently riding a three-game point streak.

Pham is the third member of the Ice to commit to the West Point, NY institution, following former Indy players Jay Clark (2005-06) and Mike Hull (2005-07).

Joining the collegiate ranks with Pham is defenseman Vince Pedrie. He has four points (1G, 3A) in six starts this season and grabbed 15 points  (3G, 12A) during the 2012-2013 campaign after being acquired from the Omaha Lancers.

Pedrie is the sixth Iceman to commit to the Bobcats in the past two years, joining Bo and Canon Pieper (2012-13), Joe Fiala (2011-13) and Alex (2010-12) and Loren (2008-10) Barron. Quinnipiac reached the 2013 NCAA Frozen Four Championship before falling to the eventual champion Yale Bulldogs, 4-0.
