Lawrence to Quinnipiac

Press Release

Marlboro, MA- Bruins USPHL goalie Sean Lawrence has accepted a scholarship to Quinnipiac for the fall of 2014. Lawrence is having an unbelievable season as the leader of a stingy Bruins defensive unit allowing less than 2 goals a game.

In 24 games and starts Lawrence has posted an 18-4-2 record with a 1.88GAA and a .940 save percentage, both bests in the Premier division. Sean has been nothing but consistent since coming to the Bruins organization at the start of the 2012-13 season. In his first year he led the Bruins to a first place finish in the North and is doing the same again this year in the USPHL.

USPHL Premier head coach and general manager Peter Masters knows better than anyone how valuable Sean has been to his team’s success and how prepared he is to be a great player at the college level, “Sean is one of the top handful of goalies to ever come thru our program. We would not be in the position we are today without him and our coaches and his teammates could not be happier for Sean on his decision to attend Quinnipiac. He has tremendous desire and work ethic and is going to be great at the college level”.

Like Lawrence, Quinnipiac is no stranger to success of late. They are following up a season in which they made an appearance in the National title game with a 12-2-2 start, 6-1-1 in the ECAC which is tops in the conference. Sean will arrive on campus next fall. In the meantime the focus will remain on guiding his Junior Bruins team thru the second half schedule and into the playoffs in search of the inaugural USPHL Premier Championship.

The Bruins and the entire USPHL would like to congratulate Sean and his family.
