North York Rangers hosting "Pink in the Rink"

Press Release

On Sunday, November 24, the North York Rangers Jr. A team will go up against one of their toughest opponents: breast cancer. That’s the day the GTHL (Greater Toronto Hockey League) team hosts Pink at the Rink, a special tournament raising money for ICEd PINK and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Pink at the Rink begins at 2:15 p.m. at Herbert Carnegie Arena (580 Finch Ave. W), with pre-game festivities including a raffle, pink ribbon items for purchase, a 50/50 draw and a bake sale. Then, at 3 p.m., there will be an on-ice ceremony and puck drop, followed by an OJHL match-up between the North York Rangers and the Toronto Jr. Canadiens.  All proceeds generated from the afternoon event will go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation via ICEd PINK, a fundraising program which encourages youth hockey leagues in Ontario to fundraise and raise breast cancer awareness.

Any kids who come to the rink wearing their minor hockey jersey (plus, one pink item!) will get in for free! And if you can’t make it out to the live event, but would still like to support the worthy cause, you can submit donations online.
