USPHL announces USPHL 16U Futures Division

Press Release

March 7, 2014. The USPHL is pleased to announce the formation of a 16U Futures Division. The eventual goal for most aspiring young hockey players is to play for their local junior hockey club as the final step in their quest to play collegiate hockey. The USPHL 16U Futures Division provides a starting point for some of these individuals to prepare for high level midget and junior hockey.

The USPHL members have each developed a complete player development model where, at present, over 4,000 boys and girls train, compete and enjoy the sport of ice hockey. These programs go beyond the on-ice experience to include education, leadership and community service components to help foster a complete student-athlete. The member organizations believe the USPHL will provide the next step in high performance training and competition and will provide unmatched exposure to NCAA hockey programs for young aspiring hockey players.

The new USPHL 16U Futures Division will facilitate league play through a combination of games at USPHL showcases and head to head play at each organizations home rink. The USPHL is presently taking applications for additional teams in the new 16U Division. Please contact Jack Sweeney at usphl.jack@gmail.com for more information.

Tryouts for USPHL teams will occur throughout the months of March, April and May. The USPHL 16U Futures Division will commence competition in September of 2014 with the following members intending to field teams. Please visit the USPHL website at www.usphl.com or the member organizations for specific information regarding the registration and tryout process.
