Williams commits to Northeastern

Press Release

Aurora Tigers rookie defenceman Eric Williams (photo credit - Kevin Sousa/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Northeastern University Huskies beginning with the 2015-16 Hockey East season.

The Newmarket, Ontario native joined the Tigers this season out of the York-Simcoe Express Midget 'AAA' program, also having played eight games with his hometown Newmarket Hurricanes as an affiliate.  Williams jumped right into heavy minutes in the Aurora lineup, leading the club's rearguards with 14 goals and 35 points in 52 games played, including 18 points on the power play.  Williams 14 goals, not only topped Aurora's defensive corps, but also topped the entire OJHL defenceman scoring chart, while his 35 points ranked him 12th overall.  Entering his first junior post-season run, Williams has already registered four points in the club's four game sweep of Newmarket in the first round.

Congratulations to Eric and best of luck the rest of the playoffs and beyond!
