QMJHL Officials Camp

Press Release

BOUCHERVILLE, Thursday, August 6, 2009 – Quebec Major Junior Hockey League officials are headed to Quebec City this week-end to take part in a pre-season camp. The camp, which starts tomorrow, will be held at Laval University’s PEPS Centre and will be overseen by Jean Hould, the Officiating Director, Marcel Patenaude, the Vice-President of Hockey Operations, Pierre Leduc, the Director of Hockey Operations, and Doug Hayward, the Director of Supervisors. Of note, seventy-six officials will be on hand to partake in the three-day event.

"The activity’s goal is to ensure that our officials are ready for the start of the season," said Hould. "We will go trough the theory and set-up workshops and on-ice practice sessions to go over the rules. The event is very much appreciated by our officials."

Moreover, the camp puts the officials through a battery of physical tests and includes workshops on physical conditioning.

Finally, Dean Bergeron and Josée Lemieux will be guest speakers.
