He's Back; Vees Re-Sign Kennedy and Add Gallagher

Press Release

The Kingston KIMCO Voyageurs are thrilled to announce that sniper Colt Kennedy is back on board and officially signed for the 2011-12 hockey season. Colt was the Vees leading scorer last season and is arguably one of the best players in the country and will be a big part of the Voyageurs team this season.

"Well it was definitely the best news for us today, thats for sure,' said Head Coach Colin Birkas.

"Colt is one of the best players in the country at this level and he's once again going to be a big part of our team," said Birkas.

Kennedy had 30 goals and 70 points last season for the Vees in 46 games and has 46 goals and 96 points over 75 games over the past two sees as a member of the Vees. He also has 14 goals and 20 assists for 34 points in 35 playoff games over two seasons as well.

"This is great for our organization and great for our fans to bring a player like Colt. We feel like we have assembled a really good group here and Colt will be another great piece to the the puzzle," said General Manager Denis Duchesne.

The Vees also signed forward Jeff Gallagher from St. Andrew's prep school, the same school where Casey Cook played last season as well. Gallagher is an offensive scorer but also has some bite and grit to his game and the speedy forward will be another welcome addition to the Vees. Gallagher and Cook are both Montreal natives and came to the Vees the same was as former sniper Ben Power did.

"We were able to sign Jeff and add another good player and great person. He fits the mold of what we want as a player and we couldn't be happier to have him,' said Birkas.
