North Stars to play preseason games in Manitoba

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Thunder Bay North Stars have announced that the club will be heading on the road to compete in three upcoming preseason games vs. Manitoba Junior Hockey League opposition.

Exhibition action for the Stars will commence Sept. 9 when they meet the Neepawa Natives at Yellowhead Centre. Game time is 8 p.m.

From there the squad will travel to Portage la Prairie for a two-game set Sept. 10-11 against the defending MJHL and Avanet Cup champion Portage Terriers. Both match-ups are slated to be afternoon matinees with puck drop set for 2:30 p.m. at PCU Centre.

Thunder Bay will open training camp on Aug. 29 at 4 p.m. at Port Arthur Arena.

Other opening week ice times are 4 p.m. Aug. 30, 6 p.m. on Aug. 31, 4 p.m. Sept. 1 and 6 p.m. Sept. 2 with all on-ice sessions being held at P.A. Arena.
