'TIPS PROMOTE RAJCIC TO ASSISTANT GM

Press Release

EVERETT, WA – Everett Silvertips Vice President/General Manager Doug Soetaert today announced the promotion of longtime Director of Business Operations Zoran Rajcic to Assistant General Manager with the club. Rajcic, who is now in his ninth season with the Silvertips, has been a member of the franchise since its inception in the Western Hockey League in 2002.

“Zoran is very deserving of this promotion to Assistant General Manager,” Soetaert said. “He has been my right-hand man since day one of this organization. He has been involved in all facets of our operation and worked hard to help build and develop the Silvertips into a very proud member of the Everett community and the WHL.”

An original member of the Silvertips, Rajcic has been in Everett since the club began operations in preparation for the inaugural 2003-04 season. Since then he has overseen business operations for one of the WHL’s most successful franchises, helping the Silvertips build and continually grow their fan base, business relationships and community presence in Everett and Snohomish County. He was recognized for that exceptional body of work with the WHL’s Marketing Award in 2010.

Another significant accomplishment for Rajcic and the Silvertips is on the horizon, as the club will soon surpass the milestone of two million fans inside Comcast Arena. The ‘Tips should hit that mark and welcome their two-millionth fan at some point in the next few weeks. Coming up next season, the Silvertips franchise will also celebrate its tenth anniversary during the 2012-13 WHL campaign.

Before coming the Everett, the University of Lethbridge (Alberta, Canada) graduate worked as the school’s Director of Athletic Marketing and also spent time in minor-pro hockey with the Baton Rouge Kingfish of the ECHL, where he served first as Director of Corporate Sales before being promoted to Vice-President/General Manager.

The Silvertips will be back on home ice to take on the Brandon Wheat Kings out of the East Division Wednesday at 7:05 pm at Comcast Arena. They will then host the Seattle Thunderbirds Friday night in our 2011-12 “Pink the Rink” game, which benefits the fight against breast cancer right here in our community.
