OHL Announces Disciplinary Action

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced the results of a review of an incident which took place in a game played in Guelph on the 19th of October, 2012 involving the Storm and the visiting Sarnia Sting Hockey Club.

The incident reviewed was a 5 minute major and game misconduct for checking to the head assessed to player Craig Hottot of the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club.

Based on such review, it is the position of the League that player Craig Hottot shall be suspended for ten (10) games, dating from but not including the game of Friday, October 19th, 2012.

The league has taken the position, that for education purposes, announcements regarding supplementary discipline may be supported by video footage and additional rationale for all incidents involving checking to the head, checking from behind, and others at the discretion of the league.
