The commissioner of the Quebec
Major Junior Hockey League, Gilles Courteau, announced today the hiring
of Patrick Legault as Recruiting Director of Central Scouting.
“Recruiting is the cornerstone of our league. It’s for this reason that
we remain proactive with the implementation of new initiatives,
including the hiring Patrick Legault as Recruiting Director. He will be
tracking top prospects for the QMJHL Entry Draft with his group of
recruiters in Quebec and the Maritime Provinces.” declared the
Commissioner.
Patrick Legault is a physical education teacher and director of Longueuil’s College Français high school hockey program. He was also an advisor to players and scout for Paraphe. In the QMJHL, he scouted for Baie-Comeau, Chicoutimi and PEI.
“I am very happy to be able to undertake this new challenge. I'm very passionate about hockey and understand how important recruiting is for the league. I think that my knowledge of the sport and my experience with young people will help me guide the QMJHL,” added Lagault.
