Phantoms add away radio broadcasts, announce TV agreement with Armstrong Cable

Press Release

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Phantoms announced today a pair of agreements that will greatly expand the club’s broadcast presence throughout the Mahoning Valley.

The Phantoms and Cumulus Broadcasting, LLC of Youngstown have exercised an option to broadcast the team’s remaining 23 regular season away games in addition to all home games on Sports Radio 1240 AM WBBW, The Home of the Phantoms. The broadcast agreement also includes any and all Phantoms’ 2014 Clark Cup Playoff games.

Youngstown play-by-play broadcaster Bart Logan will have the solo call for all remaining away games, beginning this Saturday, Nov. 16 when the Phantoms take on the Muskegon Lumberjacks in Michigan, and can be heard on Sports Radio 1240. Phantoms color analyst Matthew Lipcsak will continue to join Logan for home game broadcasts on Sports Radio 1240. Games will also be simulcast on www.WBBW.com and the iHeartRadio smartphone application.

The club also announced that it has come to terms with Armstrong Cable to televise replays of Phantoms home regular season and playoff games twice a week for the remainder of the season. Games will be replayed Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7:30 p.m. EST exclusively on Armstrong Cable channel 20/100.

“We as an organization are very excited about this opportunity provide more comprehensive coverage for our fans and hopefully reach a new audience and introduce them to Youngstown Phantoms hockey,” Logan said. “We’re constantly striving to expand our footprint throughout the Mahoning Valley and I’d like to thank our partners at Cumulus Media and Armstrong Cable, as well as [Phantoms marketing director] Scott Brand for his outreach, to bring this idea to fruition.”
