Calgary Hitmen General Manager and Vice President, Business Operations
Mike Moore is pleased to announce today the return of veteran defenceman
Alex Roach.
The 20-year-old, Quesnel, British Columbia product,
began the 2013-14 season in the Los Angeles Kings organization, posting
three assists along with rating of plus-4 over three games played with
the Ontario Reign of the ECHL. Roach, selected by Calgary in the 11th
round, 239th overall, in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft, has spent his entire
WHL playing career with the Hitmen. He has recorded 23 goals and 60
assists for 83 points along 227 penalty minutes over 184 games played.
In September 2011, the 6-4, 228-pound defenceman signed a three-year,
entry-level contract with the Kings.
Roach and the Hitmen next
see action on Sunday, November 3 when Calgary (10-3-1-2) hosts the
Edmonton Oil Kings (8-7-0-1) in the North-South Shrine Game in support
of Shriners Hospitals for Children. Puck drop is 4 p.m. at the
Scotiabank Saddledome.
