Wings tender forward

Press Release

The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are pleased to announce the signing of Will Hammer (2/6/96) to a tender agreement for the 2014-2015 season.  The 6’3, 205 pound Forward is presently a senior at St. Cloud Cathedral High School and becomes the Wings’ second tendered player for the 2014-2015 campaign.

“Will is a solid power forward.  He competes in all three zones and is at his best below the hash marks.  Most importantly, Will is an A+ individual and a great competitor who comes from a hard working family.  We think Will is going to fit in nicely as a future member of the Wings,” Associate Head Coach / Director of Player Personnel Francis Anzalone said.

The Monticello, MN native finished the 2012-2013 season with 22 goals, 25 assists and 47 points in 28 games played as a member of the St. Cloud Cathedral hockey program.  This past fall, Hammer competed for Team Great Plains in the Upper Midwest Elite Hockey league, where he tallied 11 points in 14 games played.

“We welcome Will to the Aberdeen Wings family,” Head Coach Travis Winter said.  “We think Will has a bright future in this game and we feel fortunate that he has selected Aberdeen as the place to continue his growth as a player and person.”

Hammer joins 1995 born Defenseman Brendan Riordan as players tendered by the Wings for the 2014-2015 season.
