Coyotes Sign Lane to Entry-Level Contract

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed forward Phil Lane to a three-year entry-level contract. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The 6-foot-3, 203 pound Lane recorded 15-26-41 and 94 penalty minutes (PIM) in 53 games with Brampton (OHL) this season. He finished the regular season third in team scoring, and his 41 points set a new career high. Lane was named the OHL Player of the Week on Dec. 11, after leading the Battalion with 1-6-7 en route to three consecutive wins.

The 20-year-old native of Rochester, N.Y. registered 50-57-107 and 259 PIM in 171 career regular season games with Brampton. He also appeared in 23 career postseason games with the Battalion, recording 7-2-9 and 23 PIM.

Lane was selected by the Coyotes in the second round (52nd overall) in the 2010 Entry Draft.
