Terriers’ Pattyn signs with Vermont

Another member of the Portage Terriers has accepted a scholarship to an NCAA school. Defenceman Yvan Pattyn will be joining University of Vermont for the upcoming 2012-13 hockey season. The Vermont Catamounts are a Division I program which participates in the Hockey East Conference.

“The Portage Terrier organization is very excited for the opportunity Yvan has earned,” Terriers GM/Head Coach Blake Spiller said. “Despite still being 18 years of age, he was one of the top defensemen in the league the twp years he played in Portage. Yvan was a huge part of the success the hockey club has had during his time here.”

Yvan’s older brother Stephan, also a Terrier alumnus, plays with the University of North Dakota.
