BATTLEFORDS WASTE NO TIME NAMING NEW BENCH BOSS

Press Release

The Battlefords North Stars have hired Kevin Hasselberg as their new Head Coach/General Manager.

Hasselberg comes to the team from the BCHL’s Alberni Valley Bulldogs, where he worked as an assistant coach. Prior to that, he had a five year assistant coach stint with the Olds Grizzlys of the AJHL before becoming their head coach from 2004-2010.

A former AJHL player, the Two Hills AB native is married with two children. He starts his two year contract with the Stars on August 16th; however he’s getting right down to business immediately contacting players and planning for Fall Camp.

Hasselberg replaces Ken Pearson, who resigned last month in order to be closer to his family.

The Stars are coming off a fourth place finish in the Bauer Conference in 2010-11, when they finished with a 26-29-2-and-1 record.
