Americans sign U.S. Prospect Brendan O’Reilly

Press Release

Kennewick, WA – Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has signed 16-year-old prospect Brendan O’Reilly to a standard WHL Players Contract.

O’Reilly, a 6’2 180-pound defenseman from Southlake, Texas, spent last season with the Victory Honda U-16 of the Tier 1 Elite League.  In 47 total games last year, O’Reilly collected 4 goals, 20 points and 25 penalty minutes.  An unlisted camp invite this year, O’Reilly, who was part of a team-record 14 U.S. prospects to attend this year’s main camp, becomes the third U.S. player to join Tri-City since last Friday, following the team’s acquisition of Kennewick-native Taylor Vickerman in a trade with Vancouver and signed Arizona-prospect Austyn Playfair on Monday.

“Brendan came into camp and impressed us with his skating and poise,” explained Tory.  “We are happy that Brendan and his family have chosen the WHL and our hockey club to pursue his professional goals and aspirations.”
