Icedogs training camp starts Tuesday

The Niagara IceDogs are gearing up for another exciting season and will be opening their training camp next Tuesday, August 27th.  Camp will start Tuesday and run through until the IceDogs hit the road for their exhibition opener on the road on Saturday, August 31st against the Erie Otters at Mercyhurst Arena.

All practices and games will take place at the Gatorade Garden City Complex and are open to the public.
Things open up on Tuesday with early morning registration and the week will see players broken into four teams for a tournament, leading up to cuts and the Black and White game Thursday night.  The players will then practice Friday and have a game day skate on Saturday morning before departing for their first exhibition game in Pennsylvania Saturday night against the Otters.

The full on-ice schedule for the week is as follows:

Tuesday August 27th
1pm – Teams Black and Red Practice
2pm – Teams White and Grey Practice
4pm-5:30pm – Team Red vs Team Black
5:30pm-7pm – Team White vs Team Grey
Wednesday August 28th
9:30-11am – Team Red vs Team White
11am-12:30pm – Team Black vs Team Grey
1:30-2:30pm - Goalie Ice
2:30-3:30pm – Goalie Ice
4-5:30pm – Team Red vs Team Grey
5:30-7pm – Team Black vs Team White
Thursday August29th  
8:30-10am – 3rd Place Game
10:30am-12pm – Championship Game
7pm – Black and White Game
Friday August 30th
10:00am-11:30am – Everyone on ice
2:00pm-3:30pm – Practice for players dressing in exhibition game vs Erie
3:30pm-5pm – Practice for players NOT dressing in exhibition game vs Erie
Saturday August 31st
8:30am – Game Day Skate
5pm – Exhibition Game VS Erie Otters @ Mercyhurst, Pennsylvania (Anticipated Location – Mercyhurst Ice Center, Erie, Pennsylvania)

We encourage fans to feel free to catch some of training camp, as your favourite returning IceDogs, and numerous IceDogs hopefuls battle for their spot on the 2013-2014 Niagara IceDogs.  It promises to be a great year and training camp will help kick it all off!
