Jets goaltender Priebe makes NCAA DI commitment

Press Release

The Janesville Jets, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that goaltender Austin Priebe has made a commitment to play NCAA Division I hockey for the United States Air Force Academy of the Atlantic Hockey League

Priebe (6’4/209), is 19-years-old and calls Wausau, Wisconsin home.  Last season, he appeared in 25 games and posted a 2.93 goals against average and a 91.3% save percentage for the Jets.

“We are very proud of Austin because this commitment is a result of all the hard work he put in on and off of the ice. Austin pushes himself to become a better goaltender everyday,” said Janesville head coach Joe Dibble.

“Austin is the first goaltender to commit to a Division I school in the history of the Jets. The way Austin competes in practice, in the gym and in games pushes the rest of the team to compete and battle as hard as he does, which makes us a better hockey team everyday. He is a natural lead by example type of player.”

Air Force, led by head coach Frank Serratore, had more NAHL alums on the roster last season than any other NCAA Division I team.

Priebe is the fourth player on the current 2013-14 Jets roster to have secured an NCAA Division I commitment, joining Kyle Patava (Army), Nick Petrella (Holy Cross) and Jesse Junttila (Northern Michigan).
