The Phoenix Sherbrooke Hockey
Club in association with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
is organizing a special pre-season game on Friday September 6, at the
Palais des sports Léopold-Drolet to help victims of the Lac-Mégantic
tragedy. The Sherbrooke Phoenix will give all generated revenue during
this pre-season game against the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada to the
Lac-Mégantic Future Fund. Moreover, the 17 other teams along with the
QMJHL will contribute another $ 18 000 to this initiative
.
The game day staff as well as QMJHL officials will be volunteering their services for this game. « Our entire League has really come together for the future well-being of the people of Lac-Mégantic, who were affected by the tragic events which unfolded during the summer, » explained QMJHL commissionaire Gilles Courteau.
The game dedicated to those individuals will be held at 7pm on Friday September 6 at the Palais des sports Léopold-Drolet. Fans can purchase tickets by calling the Sherbrooke Phoenix administration directly and prices vary from $ 10 to $ 20. 100% of the revenue will be given to the Lac-Mégantic Future Fund.
