Bombers acquire player from Stampeders

Press Release

For the second time in just under a week the Flin Flon Bombers have added a key piece to their roster via a trade just before the opening of main camp starting tomorrow.

The Bombers have acquired 1993 born Jean-Kristoff Grenier from the Swan Valley Stampeders of the MJHL in exchange for future considerations.

The 6’5, 220 pound product from Brossard, QC was previously acquired by the Stampeders from the Lachine Maroons of the QJAAAHL.  Last year in the QJAAAHL Grenier totaled 66 points (28g, 38a) in 48 games to go along with 63 penalty minutes between the Vandreuil-Dorion Mustangs and the Maroons.

Grenier in total has 100 points (41g, 59a) and 197 penalty minutes in 96 career QJAAAHL games.  He also saw some time in the QMJHL playing in 50 games with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in  2010-11 and a one game call up last season with the Quebec Remparts.

“We are really excited to acquire this player,” said Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan.  “He’s a big body that will make some room for our top end guys, but also contribute out there as well.  He’s a guy that has had success at this level.”

The team opens up training camp tomorrow starting with the first ice session going at 1:30 at the Whitney Forum.
