Lumberjacks makemoves, cut down roster number

Press Release

MUSKEGON, Michigan (August 30th) – The Muskegon Lumberjacks have announced that they have released three players from training camp as they get set to travel to the East Coast for the USHL Atlantic Challenge next weekend to begin their preseason slate.

The team has released three forwards in Cody Kuster, Grant Jozefek, and Collin Peters from the active roster.  Both Jozefek and Peters will be protected and remain on the organization’s affiliate list this season.

Kuster, the Ludington, Michigan native, was a free agent acquisition and attended the Lumberjacks’ Tryout Camp in June.  He will be playing in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) for the Michigan Warriors in the upcoming season.

Jozefek, the Chester, New Jersey native, was the team’s first pick at the 7th overall in the 2013 USHL Phase One Draft.  He will be suiting it up in the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) for the New Jersey Hitmen this season.

Peters, the Sheboygan, Wisconsin native, was the team’s 7th round pick (98th overall) in the 2013 USHL Phase One Draft.  He will be lacing it up for the Milwaukee Admirals AAA hockey team out of the Tier I Elite Hockey League (TOEHL) this season.

The deadline to have a final roster set for the beginning of the 2013-14 regular season is Sunday, September 15th.
