Palmer on his way to Royals

Press Release

Brandon, MB. – The Brandon Wheat Kings and Victoria Royals have completed a Western Hockey League trade.

The Wheat Kings have dealt 18-year old right-winger Jack Palmer to the Royals in exchange for two fifth round picks in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.

A former eighth round bantam draft choice of the Wheat Kings, Palmer had one goal and three points in fifteen games with Brandon this season. In 77 career WHL games, the 6’1” 183 lb. Victoria product had fifteen points, including four goals.

Wednesday’s trade comes one day after the Wheat Kings sent a third round bantam pick to the Prince George Cougars for the playing rights to 19-year old Peter Quenneville. A former Alberta Junior Hockey League Most Valuable Player and the older brother to current Wheat King John, Quenneville will join his new team for practice this afternoon and could be in the lineup Thursday vs Saskatoon.
