GIANTS ACQUIRE McNAUGHT FROM SASKATOON

Press Release

Saskatoon, SK -- The Blades have traded another 20-year-old player. Randy McNaught was traded to the Vancouver Giants today after being re-assigned to the Blades from the New York Rangers. In exchange, the Saskatoon Blades will receive a 2011 5th Round Draft Pick. Right winger, Randy McNaught, from Nanaimo, BC was acquired from Chilliwack by the Blades in the 2009/10 season. He played 65 games with the Blades last season in which he collected a whopping 163 penalty minutes.

Head Coach and GM, Lorne Molleken, expresses his thoughts on letting the hard-hitting player go. "Randy was a major contributor to our success last year. Unfortunately, with our 20-year-old situation we are in a position where we have to make many difficult decisions. Luckily, Randy is going to a tremendous organization in Vancouver, where he will excel as a player. We would like to thank him for his commitment to the Blades Hockey Club and wish him great success in the future.”
