Hounds make a pair of roster moves Sunday

Press Release

Twenty-four hours after completing their opening weekend of the OHL regular season, the Soo Greyhounds made a pair of roster changes on Sunday morning.

General Manager Dave Torrie announced that forward RYAN MACLEAN and defenseman DAVID MEAD have been released by the club.

“Today was a tough day as our organization informed David and Ryan that we had decided that they no longer would be a part of our current team. They both are classy kids who have been great teammates over the past two seasons. We hope to be able to find each of them another opportunity to continue their OHL/hockey careers and we wish them well in their future endeavors” stated Torrie.

MacLean, was entering his 2nd full season with the club. Originally selected in the 5th Round of the 2008 OHL Priority Selection, the Burlington ON native appeared in 30 games one year ago where he had 2 goals.

Mead, who was selected in the 9th Round of 2009 was entering his third year with the team. The Conklin, NY native had played in 81 games over the past two years accumulating 6 assists.
